Make 2025 Meaningful

Updated: Feb 14

Who knows, this might just be your Best Year Yet!

In my Christmas greeting, I inquired, “What do you truly desire for 2025?” This isn’t about obligation or making yet another resolution to exercise more. Instead, focus on something you genuinely want at this moment. What brings you joy? How can you enhance your enjoyment of what you do?

One effective way to address this is by utilizing the Best Year Yet program. I have been using it for 22 years, and it has proven to be beneficial for personal development, workplace improvement, organizational growth, and even enhancing relationships! It even works for sports teams. I once coached a group of homeless street footbal players to the Homeless World Cup in Sweden. It genuinely delivers results! (https://www.homelessworldcup.org)

Best Year Yet is a proven method for personal and professional growth, developed by Jinny Ditzler. It assists individuals, teams, and organizations in crafting a solid and effective action plan for achieving their best year yet.

Before you dive into setting your goals, take a moment to reflect: What’s held you back from achieving your resolutions up to now? This approach emphasizes reflection, prioritizing what matters, and turning those insights into clear goals and actionable steps.

The process revolves around ten key questions that guide participants in reflecting on the past, tackling challenges, and creating a solid plan for the upcoming year.

The next 10 questions from Best Year Yet are also covered in the book “Your Best Year Yet” by Jinny Ditzler:

1. What have I accomplished over the last year ?

→ Think about your successes and what you've accomplished

2. What were my greatest disappointments from the past year?

→ What challenges did you face?

3. What lessons can I learn to enhance my achievements?

→ What insights and experiences will you carry forward with you?

4. What obstacles have prevented me from reaching my full potential, and what strategies can I implement to overcome these challenges?

→ Recognize the obstacles, beliefs, and patterns that hold you back

→ Create new beliefs and strategies to move forward

→ Develop a compelling personal motto that inspires you

5. What are my personal values ?

→ Identify the values that guide you in what you consider important

6. What roles do I fulfill in my life?

→ Think about professional and personal roles (e.g. leader, partner, parent)

7. What will be my most crucial role in the upcoming year?

→ Choose a focus role that has the greatest impact

8. What are my goals for this year?

→ Set clear, measurable and inspiring goals

9. What are my top 10 goals?

→ Focus on on what truly matters to you

10. How do I ensure that I achieve my goals?

→ Develop a strategic action plan for effective implementation

These questions pave the way for a clear and actionable annual plan that not only outlines goals but also offers the mindset and strategies necessary to achieve them.

Feel free to share your challenges or if you require assistance. I am here for you, and my licensed colleagues around the globe are as well.

Bonus TIP: Once you have your plan in place, be sure to set monthly goals and follow up on them. From my experience, as well as that of my colleagues around the globe, you'll likely reach at least 80% of your primary objectives. And let's not forget about the additional bonuses!
