I’ve got some news for you! I’m currently working on a certification to get certified to coach using Leadership Circle profiles.
The Leadership Circle Assessment (LCA) is a comprehensive 360-degree leadership evaluation that examines both the internal motivations and external actions of leaders. What I appreciate about this tool is that it goes beyond just assessing competencies; it also delves into the core beliefs and assumptions that shape how leaders behave.

My goodness, another profile assessment? What makes this one special?
1. Deeper Understanding: Actions and Beliefs
Most assessments focus on behavior and skills, but the LCA takes it a step further:
Don't just track what you do; pay attention to why you do it
Looks into the core mindset and beliefs that influence your leadership
Demonstrate how your inner thought processes affect your outward actions
👉 How it differs from DISC, MBTI, or Insights Discovery:
These tools primarily offer a glimpse into preference styles and behavioral profiles, but they don't really clarify why someone behaves a certain way.
2. Creative vs. Reactive Leadership
De LCA verdeelt leiderschapscompetenties in twee hoofdgroepen:
Creatieve competenties (bijv. visie, samenwerking, strategisch denken)
Reactieve patronen (bijv. perfectionisme, controle, goedkeuring zoeken)
3. 360° Feedback & holistisch model
The LCA is a comprehensive assessment, meaning you get feedback from various stakeholders like managers, colleagues, and team members.
Unlike a lot of other assessments, it provides a cohesive model: it connects personal leadership with organizational impact.
👉 Difference between EQ tests and Gallup Q12:
A lot of assessments tend to concentrate on self-reporting or just emotional intelligence, but the LCA actually looks at both how you see yourself and how others see you.
4. Easy-to-understand visual display
The LCA displays its results in a user-friendly pie chart that clearly illustrates:
Where your strengths are.
What reactive patterns hold you back?
How your way of leading affects your surroundings.
👉 How it differs from traditional assessments:
A lot of other tools rely on tables or numerical scores, but LCA offers a visual model that's easy to understand.
5. Straight connection with growth and action
The LCA is all about personal transformation.
It not only reveals your current position but also highlights ways you can improve
Connects insights to practical approaches, like Best Year Yet or Strategic Doing.
Helps leaders recognize limiting patterns and provides clear paths for development
👉 How it differs from the Big Five or other personality assessments:
The Big Five mainly serves as a scientific way to measure personality, but it doesn't provide specific tools for developing leadership skills.
Conclusion: What’s the Deal with Leadership Circle Assessment?
The Leadership Circle Assessment stands out because it:
Explores the deeper beliefs that drive behavior
Evaluates both actions and effects using a 360° model
Provides a model that is both visual and practical
Is perfectly suited for coaching and leadership growth
